Day 6 – Prague Old Town

It was our first full day in Prague and we wanted to see as many sights as we could again with minimal hassle. We decided to visit the old town as there was a big clock Tiff wanted to see…

It looked like a small Big Ben. Tiff reckoned if we took a picture of our Daniel Wellington watches with the clock tower in the background we could send them off to their Instagtam page and get featured or something…

My hand was normal but Tiffs looked like E.T so I don’t think we’ll get featured now. The square was lovely and we decided to have a spot of lunch. It was here I took the most professional photo of my career using the panoramic setting on my iphone…

Next we went into a gallery just behind the restaurant. It had two exhibitions I really wanted to see and the first one was Salvador Dali…

I’m a big fan of surrealism and really like his work however I think Tiff thought most of it was weird…

I asked if we could have something like this on our wall, she said no. Next up was the Andy Warhol exhibition.

I really like his pop art and he produced the artwork for many of my favourite albums. I asked Tiff to take a photo of me sat down looking really cool in the gallery…

In the square outside the gallery there was a cool band playing. The harmonica player was ace…

Unfortunately they were moved on by the police. Killing real music…

Tiff wanted to go across the bridge and take pictures of far away scenery. So we did…

There are lots artists and musicians scattered along the bridge including this guy…

We found a cheap underground bar just off the bridge called ‘Legend’ so we stopped for a drink. Tiff wanted a selfie with me but as always I ruined it…

After dinner we headed out into town in search of a place called ‘Vzorkovna’ which had been recommended to us by friends. You had to put money on a fob in order to pay for drinks in there. I think we put about £3 each on. It was really cool inside and reminded me of the old ‘Snobs’ in Birmingham. There was a live band playing 12 bar blues all night. Tiff loved it…

The club had several rooms and floors and at one point we stumbled across the biggest dog I had ever seen. I though it was paper mache at first but then it moved. I was too scared to take a picture but let’s just say it looked a bit like this…

We decided to leave and get some food on the way back so we handed our fobs in and must have got half our money back after several pints. It was pretty cheap. Once we were outside I asked Tiff to take a photo of me looking like a king…

I then pulled my groin ruling me out for the season…

After stumbling around for a bit we found a place called ‘Crazy Wok’. I think they were showing Euro 96 live on a small tv set…

The food was lovely and I had chicken noodles with no nonsense for the walk back…
